What is Dedication?
A baby or child dedication is a special ceremony where parents, along with their church community, commit to raising their child in a loving, faith-filled environment. Unlike baptism, a dedication does not involve water and is not seen as a sacrament. Instead, it's an opportunity for parents to publicly acknowledge their desire to guide their child in their spiritual journey, seeking God's guidance and blessing. The church congregation also pledges to support and pray for the family, creating a nurturing and supportive community for the child's upbringing.
