Grief Share support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. At this 13-week group, you'll receive valuable guidance and tips,
leading you to relief, comfort, and peace of mind. Grief Share support will begin a new 13 week group on Monday, August 10th from 6:00-8:00pm, with doors opening for fellowship at 5:30pm. Books are available for $20 and can be purchased on the first night of the group.

Elder Spotlight: Ron Fryson

Fun Facts About Ron
Tea or Coffee: “Tea because real men drink tea!”
Favorite Movie: The Wizard of Oz; “It’s a scientific and historical fact that it’s the greatest movie of all time”
Hobbies: Music, playing the drums, songwriting, and recording
Ron Fryson was born in Alaska and grew up in Toms River, where he resides with his wife Lynne and their son Jesse. After an extensive search online for a home-church, Ron came across Proving Ground Church. After watching multiple sermons online, Ron found Pastor Nick’s preaching and the teaching of the church to be solid. Ron and his family attended PGC’s Silent Saturday service before Easter, and knew that this was the church they would call home. Five years later, the entire family all currently serve at PGC in various capacities within different ministries.
Ron took on the role of Elder Chairman in January of 2026, and has served on the PGC Elder Board for three years. According to Ron, “being an elder is a privilege and a high calling which I take seriously. In a growing church like PGC where we only have one pastor on staff, our responsibilities are magnified. Elders are a vital part of the ministry. We are stewards of the property, the finances and most importantly, the spiritual well being of the church. We’re also the support system for the pastor. We oversee and are involved in several ministries of the church. We are called on at times to fill in for the pastor to preach in his absence, which is both an honor and great responsibility.”
When asked about the Vision of PGC, and what is most exciting about where God is leading us as a church, Ron stated “I believe the best years of PGC are yet to come. God has given Pastor Nick an amazing vision to reach our community and strengthen the body of Christ. We are growing. We are reaching beyond our four walls and making disciples around the world by simply introducing people to Jesus. Our church remains open, transparent and welcoming. We continue to live out our motto: “Loving people where they’re at, because Christ loves us where we are.”

VBS has wrapped up and things have slowed down allowing for us to truly reflect on the many blessings that came from our incredible week together. We witnessed heart change, children dedicating their lives to the Lord and many God moments that left us in awe. God continues to move through PGC and has blessed us abundantly. As we prepare for growth, we pray to be able to expand our children’s ministry and welcome new volunteers to an ever growing, ever evolving part of our church. We are less than 20 days away from Surprise Party VBS 2026 and have just TWENTY kids spots available! Do not miss the opportunity for your child to join the most epic party of the summer. Expect the unexpected, our week together will be jam packed with science experiments, awesome crafts, leveled up party games and TONS of surprises. We are looking forward to a hands on, out of the box experience as we draw closer to our Heavenly Father. It is sure to be the highlight of your child’s summer.
We are tremendously grateful for the many VBS partnerships this year, without the outpouring of support this event would not be nearly and impactful or exciting for the children of PGC and beyond!
