Sometimes life can get a little MESSY… The good news is Jesus loves messy people!

What can students entering 1st grade through 6th grade expect at VBS 2025?

Each evening, we all come together with Messy Marvin and his friends for an interactive skit, dancing, singing, games, and hear our big idea and theme for the night. Then our students will rotate through a variety of fun activities including physical challenges, messy science experiments, art, building snacks, and listening to live action Bible stories! We all will rotate back to the sanctuary to end the evening with more dancing and fun.

This week will be VERY MESSY, so we recommend students wear clothing that is okay getting messy or even ruined!

Monday
"Why is the world such a messy place?"

Scripture: Genesis 3 - Adam and Eve

The world is a mess because of sin. We will be exploding with fun as we kick off the week with science, finding out what happened when Adam and Eve added sin to an otherwise calm world. We will also add a bit of friendly competition as we attempt to clean our room!

Dress Up Theme: Mismatch Monday
Have you been looking for the perfect occasion to wear that purple and orange plaid shirt with those green and yellow striped shorts? If so, then this is your day!

Tuesday
"How does Jesus respond to our messes?"

Scripture: Mark 10 - Rich Young Ruler

Jesus loves a good mess! No matter how messy you are, Jesus loves you. It's laundry day! Get ready to run in a relay attempting to get that pesky pile of laundry under control. Got slime? Your child will, after leaving Tuesday evening!

Dress Up Theme: Technicolor Tuesday
Show off your favorite color by wearing it from head to toe! Together, we’ll make up a super bright rainbow of awesomeness!

Wednesday
"How should we respond to our messes?"

Scripture: Luke 18 - A Sinner's Prayer

Confess your mess! Jesus wants us to be honest about our sin, and our need for Him. Will you escape Marvin's messy room? Not without digging to find pieces of their bible verse. Students will also get creative using unconventional tools to paint a canvas to be displayed at our family fun night!

Dress Up Theme: Wrinkled Wednesday
Don’t touch that ironing board! How will you make sure your clothes are wrinkled to perfection? Will you crumple them up and shove them under your bed? Will you sleep in them?

Thursday
"What does Jesus do about our messes?"

Scripture: Luke 15 - Prodigal Son

Address your mess! Our sin can only be addressed by the grace of Jesus. We’re saving our messiest night for last. Thursday is our COLOR RUN! Bring a towel and a change of clothing! We will provide the shirts students will be running in, but they will need to change before going back into the sanctuary.

Dress Up Theme: Themeless Thursday
We will provide each child with a plain white T-shirt, but we are pretty sure we will find a way to brighten things up!

Friday
"What does Jesus do about other people's messes?"

Scripture: Memory Verse!

Bring the whole family for a messy night of family fun on Friday July 18th starting at 5:45 as we wrap up our weeklong festivities. You won’t want to miss this night, because someone is taking a trip to the slime station!

Dress Up Theme: VBS Shirt
Show us your COLOR RUN colors! Wear your decorated VBS shirt on family fun night!

Join us for a fun and messy week at "What A Mess VBS!!"

Please e-mail Miss Tiffany with any questions or concerns.

Snacks and drinks will be provided!

Due to airborne allergies, absolutely no food will be permitted into the building. Your child does not need to bring a water bottle. They will receive water bottles several times throughout the evening.
