The unexpected grace of Jesus!

What can students expect at VBS 2026?

Each evening will be full of SURPRISES!!  We will start the night by all coming together for an interactive skit, dancing, singing, games, and hear our big idea and theme for the night. Then our students will rotate through a variety of fun activities including physical challenges, messy science experiments, art, building snacks, and listening to live action Bible stories! We all will rotate back to the sanctuary to end the evening with more dancing and fun. 

This week will be VERY MESSY, so we recommend students wear clothing that is okay getting messy or even ruined!

Monday
Jesus has unexpected grace for unexpected people.

Scripture: Jesus Is Criticized - Luke 5:29-32

PARTY FOUL! The Pharisees criticized Jesus for the people with whom He chose to feast. They expected God’s Messiah to keep company with those in the religious establishment—not to dine with sinners and tax collectors. However, Jesus told them that He didn't come for the righteous, but for sinners

Dress Up Theme: Party Hats!
It’s hat day. Get yourself a party hat, wear your favorite cap, break out that novelty hat, or top your dome with your own homemade party-time lid!

Tuesday
Jesus wants us to share His unexpected grace.

Scripture: Jesus Throws A Party - Luke 14:7-14

Jesus teaches us not to leverage parties or other social gatherings to our own ad-vantage by assuming the most favorable seating positions or inviting guests who can benefit us in some way. Instead, he tells us how to practice humility and extend grace to everybody.

Dress Up Theme: Slumber Party!
Don’t you dare brush that hair, because today we’re going to party in our pajamas! This might even call for a bedhead contest.

Wednesday
God has unexpected grace for those who are far from Him.

Scripture: The Lost Sheep - Luke 15:1-7

“For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.” Luke 19:10
A PARTY IN HEAVEN

Dress Up Theme: Party Animals!
Dress up as your favorite animal. It’s best if you don’t do an elaborate costume. Simple things like animal ear headbands, face paints, and tails are all you really need.

Thursday
God's grace is so surprising that it can be hard to deal with.

Scripture: Luke 15 - The Prodigal Son's Brother - Luke 15:11-32

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

Dress Up Theme: Beach Party!
Wear your board shorts, SPF swim shirts, tank tops, flower leis, or shades. Top it off with a beach hat or visor, and throw in a grass skirt if you want to. You can also put some colorful zinc sunblock on your nose and cheeks.

Family Night!

Scripture: Memory Verse!

Bring the whole family for a night of family fun on Friday July 17th  starting at 5:45 as we wrap up our weeklong festivities. You won’t want to miss it!
